cheers lee. Have found a table in the book that comes with the bike showing what jets etc so gonna have a little look how far off that I am.
Would be great if someone could take a pic of the slide in theirs so can see if the slide has been cut on mine.

Don't you mean lectron?
Few people i've spoken to who have them reakon the smartcarb is better, I do like the clear floatbowl on the lectron tho.
However my Mikuni and stock reeds have been faultless, that's not to say that others dont have issues with them tho.

You be very lucky to get rid of the low down lumpyness on the road after all it's a competition 250 and just wants to be revved, at the end of the day as long as it's running sweet off road learn to live with it on tarmac

Update***
So after 10 hours of pissing the residents off in my housing estate it's now as good as it's ever been. Tried numberous different combinations but did write some of them down and what affect it had.
For starters the slide has been modified, the little hole at the bottom has been made bigger.
ET James set up of
Needle 43/75
Clip 2
PJ 32.5
MJ 460
AS 1.5
Was having an irritating burble at between a fraction and 1/8 throttle
Needle 43/73
Clip 1
PJ 37.5
MJ 450
2.5 AS
Ran ok but seemed to be like a 125 - lots of noise but not shifting.
Above settings with a 40PJ made no difference.
Needle 43/73
Clip 1
PJ 37.5
MJ 460
As 2.5 open
Bogged out initially when opening throttle full.
I am now running
Needle 43/73
Clip 1
PJ 37.5
MJ 460
AS 2
There's no burblyness at low revs, no overrun after lay off throttle and it seems to pull well all through the rev range- I did start questioning if there was a slight delay when opening the throttle but honestly think I'm starting to imagine things!
I did try a lot of other combinations, and the only way to not have the low down burble was to have the clip on 1. Any other position and the Burble was there.
So I would say it's 95% of where I would imagine it should be, only saying this as 100% I'll never get as always be a bit of doubt in my mind that it could be better!
