He knows, all best more like 30 miles.
To be fair I can't fault them yet, my 16 was two months out of warranty and the reed snapped and went on a jolly in the engine. They had it back, resolved and at no cost to myself. Can't grumble at that.

Re: Starting issues 17 exc 250
So, the bike went in last Friday. Typically it started first time from not being started for two weeks,on the button too.
They have dropped the needle height, raised float height, modified the slider and fitted a bigger pilot jet.
I'll be out on the weekend so will see how she is on fuel consumption but my initial thoughts are how much "crisper" the bike sounds.

Re: Starting issues 17 exc 250
I have finally gotten round to checking the carb... the garage said they had modified the slide - I can't see any modifications as such but have a few pics to try and confirm.
Needle 43/75
Clip number 2
Pilot 32.5
Main 460
A/S 1.5 turns out.
The Garage have altered the float height which I can see.
When opening the throttle she goes like shit off a shovel but when maintaining between a fraction and 1/3 throttle she runs real lumpy and not the most responsive immediately. End up riding in a lower gear.

Re: Starting issues 17 exc 250
that's an odd setup
Good base one with the stock parts is:
Needle 43/73 as 2 Clip 2 pilot 40 main 450
Few quid on non stock parts:-
Needle 43/74 as 2 Clip 2 .1shim pilot 45 main 460 <-- Clarky and me both run this one, and its great.

Thats a bloody small pilot in there tho, using one that small is usually in tandem with using the s1 needle from what I have heard.
Few people have done the slide mod, but they have also modded the squish, and also gone to vforce 4's
My bike, (and done the same to Clarky's) have been spot on just by jetting it.
