Newbie ride 20th may 2016
Met all at the usual spot, lots of new faces and shiney bikes. Started off dry for the first 10mins then a little drizzle. We headed off towards the welsh marches and lunched in Kington. A few river crossings and some traditional lanes followed by some lovely forest single track and then up and over water break its neck in the worst conditions ever, cold and misty with the added bonus of heavy rain. I could feel it running down my legs into my boots.....at this point I was happy to go home.
We battled on!!!
I didnt really see much of what was going on as I was up front all day, but there were plenty of offs and spills I gather. Not many pics or any vid taken, maybe a few from the other lads.
We did 174miles in total.
Every one said they enjoyed the day and would like to go again in the British summer time.
Thanks to all that came, especially Viv for being sweeper. Feel free to upload pics if you got any guys

Thanks Clarky for leading, even the odd ones we got wrong, yes the offs were really quite gentle ones but were funny and mainly because of craped up goggles.
Hardly had to pick any bikes up at all and only closed two gates out of the four million we went through.
Great day great company thanks lads.
Ps wooded section was great and i owe Owen a roosting.

Yeah I forgot about the million gates, and I owe Owen a roosting from the last ride too......
We only did about 500m in the wrong direction all day, not bad I reckon lol

No such thing as bad weather - just bad preparation...
sometimes its rides in those conditions that make the day good - it brings out a primeval sense - you get to the point beyond caring about the conditions and they become part of the journey..
well played lads
