For £2500 if you wanted a bigger cc Ktm I would try to find one between 04-07 shape. They have the bullet proof RFS Engine. They do a 400, 450 and 525. I've had 400 and 450. The 450 is a big more snappy the 400 is highly rated as being an all rounder for grunt and tad more user friendly.

The 08 changes to a different engine and from what I've heard they are not as bulletproof until a few years later after they've smoothed out the issues.

If it was my choice, for that budget I'd get a Yam WRF, I've had 2 of the 250's early steel frame 04 and an 08 ally frame, also had 2 of the 450's. I found the wrf 450 to be absolutely brutal power compared to the ktm but the 250 ally frame was the best bike I've owned

And I get to pick up the pieces, repair, maintain it Very Happy to be fair its an absolute tank, takes the shit and still keeps going Very Happy
