Saturday 8th October Tintern and Monmouth
Started out from mine at 09:30, quick fuel up then Went to Woods, stopped after a few quick lanes for a gas , Catuk in one of his usual poses (the Larry Grasson hands on hips, are you looking at me stance)
Then back on it and out towards Shirenewton, unfortunately a new twig had partially blocked one of the lanes but before we could spin the bikes around PaddyPower sprung into action and held it up so we could all pass under safely, jacking it up.
No fellas, wait, I Paddypower will loft this meer twig while u lads pass beneath safely, this is my twig...
out of Shirenewton heading East on the hoof, and the pics are.
A quick stop allows Moggs and InspectorGadget to inspect Catuks' bum!!! or was they looking at his bike!!! you decide !!!
Then on our way again, dropping down into Tintern we bumped into four locals with some interesting bikes
Up through a few more lanes getting a bit disorientated along the way, we again bumped into the locals, after a quick chat they agreed to show us around their backyard, and we headed out to Monmouth taking in a cracking lane/climb, 'Devils staircase' recommended....but only got a pic of the very top sorry
One of the locals blasts up 2nd time on his xr445
Gadget now the headless man looses his head, map reading !!! arghhh
On the hoof again for some grub and a refuel in Monmouth
Met up with another gang of Armstrong / Harley ex military fanatics with some awesome pieces of kit, even the old lady who was the owner of Cwmithig Hill in Rhayader came over for a chat about the bikes...bless
We gave our thanks and said our goodbyes, told em to log on to see the report and offered a ride out in our backyard.
Then headed back near Offas Dyke Path to Tintern again
Four very happy dirtbikers
Then the infamous Pant Glas Steps
Oi ! you two....
After a few blasts through some more woods Moggs when his front wheel was on the ground roosted the Catman with disastrous consequences!!
The mighty xr takes a hit
Chris was a little pissed
Moggs couldnt believe he'd done it, his face says it all
Finally after a bit of roadwork...we're lost again !!!!! back into the back of Caerleon for a toy around in the Quarry and out through the river crossing, a first for me....yeh All bikes held up really well all day, started 09:30 got back home just around 5pm with only two forced stops from the Kato!! one due to wire wrapping around Moggs back wheel, the other due to part of Moggs graphics pealing off !!!!!! think the draught it was causing might have been a factor in forcing his front wheel in the air at every opportunity...
Good day lads, really enjoyed it....til next time.............Ride on!!!!!!

Yeh, good day, the Blue armstrong was superb, a few good trick bits added too, all of em were different, one had a ccm rear swingarm/susension and even a 2 stroke with twin shocks bolt upright... a bit of roadwork but had a few really good new lanes...enjoy tomorrow fella....hope the weather holds out for you.
