Not really a ride report, but.......

I know this isn't really a ride report, but stuck it on anyway
Rode a trial today and was assured by the organising club that the overnight frost would be no problem.
How wrong can you get! Rock hard frozen ground where dry, and solid ice where wet!

Section 1 Rocky frozen stream - rode in, pushed it out = score 5
Section 2 Rocky frozen stream - rode in, pushed it out = score 5
Section 3 Steep down / up hill - rode in, paddled out = score 3
Section 4 V. steep, frozen downhill to big scary trees - said ''you must be joking matey'' = score 5
Section 5 Tight camber around trees - went over handlebars, swore a lot = score 5
Section 6 Frozen river + roots out - as section 4! = score 5
Section 7 River with icey steps - rode in fell off, swore some more = score 5
Section 8 More river and icey steps - gave up and walked it through - score - don't know, don't bloody well care anymore!!
Section 9 No idea, as before i got to the section i met an ex top british championship rider sliding back to meet me on his arse!

Buggered off back to the van, and found an almost empty carpark due to the rest having enough sense to quit before i did.
I ain't no Dougie, but that was as hard a session on a bike as i've ever had or ever want.

Was going to do a trial myself today but my water pump parts didn't turn up yesterday, i'm glad they didn't now

After giving up (along with riders 10 times better than i'll ever be) I met 2 blokes riding back into the sections to try and finish, and asked 'em ''WHY???''
They replied grinning ''Because we's Merthyr boys, isn't it!!''
