RFS engine rebuild
So after the 3 dayer (and all the rest of the abuse she's been given) It's time to give GaGa some serious TLC
my clutch case gasket is well blown and leaking oil left right and centre - I got through as much oil as petrol
every one was saying im smoking (the bike not me) so I'm thinking new piston and rings - and while im there what else??
I got the bank holiday weekend ahead to get the lump out and I got a great engineer on standby to help with the strip and rebuild..
so anyone know of a piston rebuild kit to go for ? - one that will make me wheelie longer and faster ?
anything else I should consider - big ends / small ends / cam chain / valves / stems / bearings ??? while its all out on the workbench?
obviously i'll be upgrading the flux capacitor and the fister 3000 - but all help and comments greatly appreciated

and if the piston and rings are worn there a good chance the barrel would be to.
But it could just be valve steam seals that's what i,d be looking at first cheap fix compared to a full rebuild.

Leave it to Pete... take one or two of his bottle's of jack down the garden & bolt it...and stay there till you sober up
It may run again

Re: RFS engine rebuild
Does anyone know if you can get the cam out without splitting the chain?
Age of the bike, I'm thinking a new cam chain wouldnt go amiss.

Re: RFS engine rebuild
No mate you have to split it! I'd replace it anyway!
Depends if you want to break into the bottom half of the engine dude?
I'd do a piston and rings, check your valves for wear to see if they're sharp on the edges and if they're leaking past the seals, do valve stem oil seals
Obviously none of that means anything to you so over to Pete

Cheers mate.
That was pretty much my plan months ago, piston, rings, valve stem seals. But Dude assured me "nnnnnaaaaahhhhhhh mate, its fine, my CRM is on its original piston so the ktm dont need one either"
