Hey guys,
Just a quick hello, joined a few days ago and have just been checking out some threads before posting. I've been riding since I was about 14 (off road) and have had my licence 12 years now but haven't had a road bike for a while. Previous bikes I've had include cbr600, hornet 600, nsr125(first road bike!) zephyr 750 streetfighter, yz125 motorcross. I'm looking at getting into a bit of enduro riding and thought this would be a good place to start, and get some advice on what you think would be a good bike for a bit of enduro but also a commute to work because I'm fed up of sitting in traffic all the time and missing being on a bike. I'm torn between 2 and 4 stroke, love the power delivery of a 2stroke but then the torque of the 4stroke is appealing, and the few 4stroke motorcrossers I have ridden have been pretty good! A soon as I sell my van a bike is on the cards!
Any help/advice/veiwpoints welcome
Cheers
Tony

welcome mate, If you are gonna use it for commutes then I'd go for 4 stroke too be honest. everyone seems to go for the KTM's these days. but there's plenty of choice out there, depends on budget really

Yeh I thought the same a 4stroke to use back and forth work, was looking at KTM's but also really fancy a Beta. Saying that I have seen a few nice CRF's about for sale lately! budgets not too much of an issue as soon as I sell my T4, in the process of kitting it out as a camper now, as soon as that is finished I'll probably be looking to spend 2-3k maybe a bit more

Hi Keith, I have been looking at 450's but not sure if they might be too much of a handful off road, I've ridden a few but not over anything too challenging. the 350 could be a happy medium though. my mate had a 250 ktm and a 250 yz both 4strokes and both seemed fast enough on the rough stuff.
I'm originally from Cardiff but moved to Taffs Well about 3 years ago, then bought a House with the wife and moved to Beddau 3 weeks ago, so I have a garage I can keep toys in again!
Cheers for the welcome mizzed!!

450 is great, it goes as fast as you want it, and pulls plenty.

Welcome Tony.
There all wrong the only reason they need 450's is cause there fat
I ride a 350 ktm and find it does everything they all do.
I think if i was going to buy a new one now i would stay with 350 but still look at the Beta, Husky and husamberg thingy don't forget jap there tidy as well so if ya can cadge a go on other peoples first.

Re: New Member
welcome aboard . wont go wrong with a 350 or a 450 , just moved to a 450 and i feel its easier to ride , more useable power , and no heavier , and would be better for commuting as you can gear them up without losing any oomph . 2 strokes too stinky , riders always moaning about running out of fuel , and if this forum is anything to go by , ridden exclusively by retards
