Shropshire camping trip
After a few cancellations for various reasons, Geraint, Rob, Ray me and Robs pillion (that looked like a hairy aardvark) met at the Honey Café for a relaxed breakfast before setting of..........
A few of the usual lanes done, before getting to some different stuff
First of many 'fag breaks'
This one was bodged up with all sorts of crap - but we soon found a useful prop allowing us to creep under
We did this one a few weeks ago - Ray hated it and swore 'never again!'
So obviously we conned him into doing it again
And this time he just swore - a lot!
We now suspect it might be renamed 'you lying bastards' lane
Then more of the journey on toward The Long Mynd and Richards Castle
Until we got to the camp site at about 6.00 and 90 miles later
Where we got tents up, arsed about and inflated mattress - those of us wise enough to actually have one that is!
Then buggered off on the ten minute (half an hour more like!) walk to the pub for a few beers and a curry
Luckily no one took a camera to witness Ray looking like he'd pulled for a second and quickly changing his mind when she said he reminded her of Tommy Cooper
After the uphill (literally!) slog back to the campsite in the pitch dark more arsing about started, but it was all a bit blurry by now......
Mmmm, lovely
Then again, maybe not!
Tommy who did she say........?
After a shit night's sleep caused by cider head, curry belly, Ray's 100db+ snoring and a minute tent to name a few things was up at 5.00 and thought there was something missing, but not sure what?
Then as it got lighter realised it was Geraint's tent, who'd moved house in the night to the corner of the field to try and get away from HMS Raymond and it's foghorn - I turns out the field wasn't big enough for that though!
Then noticed a dopey pigeon had missed the KTM it was obviously aiming for and shat on a Honda instead
By 7.00 every one was up (and all looking a bit rough) but decided to crack on for a few hours until somewhere was open for a fry up
Geraint made the decision there and then to NEVER, EVER camp again, and left his brand new tent pitched in the field to prove it
Never been trail riding so early!
Breakfast at last
After brekkie Geraint saw a road he knew would take him to a bath and his bed asap - so sensibly took it
Few more lanes for us though
Eventually got back for a last cuppa at The Honey, then home to a quiet, level, clean comfortable bed
Cheers all - I haven't laughed so much in a long time

Re: Shropshire camping trip
I was a bit gutted yesterday driving home thinking you'd had perfect weather the camp out.
So..... Why did Geraint drag his tent 100 yards down the field?
Rays snoring that bad or wanted to be at one with the country side and a secret tug

Re: Shropshire camping trip
Fantastic weekend Gary , thanks for sorting out the route , we sort of took you for granted , as your sense of direction was as ever faultless ! It was a real laugh , apart from the 7 hours I endured in that tent . The HMS Tomy Cooper ( Ray ) was stuck in "full steam ahead" mode thats for sure . I'm sure that as women do with chilbirth , we'll forget the bad bits and be itching to do it again in a few weeks !
" />
Geraint , quite unaware of what horrendous night he was about to endure
" />
Imagine meeting this lot on a dark night ?

After a night in a miget tent you'd have been begging to go
I was having a little wander around at 5.00am (like you do!) and met Ray coming out of the mist half trotting half mincing but without allowing his cheeks to unclench saying 'can't stop, need a fakkin shit NOW'
That alone made being up early worthwhile for me
