devon and dorset
Lovely couple of days exploring the lanes of dorset and devon.
Well 1.5 days to for me, had to retire due to a poorly clutch on my Honda, gutted,
wolfy took up the reigns and is now a fully qualified garmin technician.
I arrived at the campsite Friday about 5pm, joss and gary were already there so we sat in my camper van waiting for the others, drinking and just generally talking bollox about bikes, some were more qualified than others.
Started off on sat following a tracklog that I had done a few years ago, fuel stop was 17 miles away so we headed off and kept going til wolfy was running on fresh air, turned out we had been doing the route in reverse,
its quite easy to do that when you are following a tracklog instead of a route on these garmins. So we had to source out a petrol station which seemed a bit harder than we thought, finally managed to get some fuel and a bit of food and then back track on the route to jump back on to the long lane with the ford in it.
The lanes early on were a bit boring but the afternoon made up for it with a couple of crackers , everyone was smiling after the “beach race” and if you look closly at 2.40 secs in on the vid you can see JTM doing a del boy !
Back to the camp site for a shower then out for a site seeing tour in a taxi to a pub 2 miles down the road.
Up early for another breakie, josh was telling us how he was on the throne all night and was jibbing today ( I was glad of this later) then off to the lanes of devon this time, bit of a road work to the start of them at which point we lost mel due to his tingling hands.
1st cracking lane of the day was banked up at the end, I was already for turning around when graham talked me into it,
my tractor ploughed it up and obviously made it easier for the rest of them.
Couple of lanes later and my clutch went so a call to joss was put in and him and mel came to the rescue.
When I got back to the camp I noticed that gareth had locked his trailer to mine, a few spanners later and mel and joss had freed it and I managed to track down the boys on the way home to give gar his padlocks back, he didnt fancy taking the chain with him on his bike!
great bunch with great banter as usual. thanks lads!
just Gutted I couldn’t finish the ride!!!
Well done wolfy for taking over!

Thanks for organizing a great weekend Mr Brown...
Brownie for leading and Wolfy for sweeping with some conferring and route checking as we went. Top guys...
And a touch of " a la carte" Saturday evening down a local pub. I don't know who organized that but thanks...
