Isle of Man - a series of unfortunate events Empty Isle of Man - a series of unfortunate events

What a blast ! Friday didn't start too well , after getting there for 11am ferry  , we never realised you couldn't take fuel cans on ferry, got turned around on the dock , then missed the boat , so had to sit around till 8pm , well pissed off ! , we also suddenly found out that the Manx Rally was on that Sat with roads closed all over the island ! .Got to hostel at midnight , so it was up on Sat all kitted out , then realised my sat nav map didnt actually feature the Isle of Man so was looking at a blank screen ! soldiered on with paper map and following a wiggly line on sat nav . Straight into some hard old lanes , then we all just got lost in the fun of it for the day , Rally had finished by the time we got to the stage areas , so we just ploughed onwards. Scrambled up the hard Doarlish Cashen lane , but well sweaty by the top , got back to Ramsey by about 8pm . Few ales and a shite pizza delivery. Sunday we did route in reverse and added a bit , ripped valve puncture , then 2 pinched tubes putting them in , getting desperate but last one went in ok , back on trails and finished day earlier as we were cracking on . Monday early we went up to the Ohio plantation , where there are some woody Enduro loops , 200 fried its clutch , so a 5 mile tow home , quick breakfast , shower and homeward bound . We found the place really hospitable , lanes well marked , plenty of them , and some interesting history and bike stuff , definitely do it again one day ! cheers
