Xcf has a 19 inch rear I think and basically a motocrosser ideal for hare n hounds

Re: exc-f or xc-f
Ive got the 2 stroke version of xc, its an 18" rear, comes with a bigger tand and a very slightlly raised gearing in 1st and 2nd gear.
The 2013 model xcf has the newer engine giving about 5bhp more and is lighter so if it is a 2013 he is looking at ide go for that.

Re: exc-f or xc-f
The xc has only got on and off lights theres no dip or brake light and I don't think the cable for a horn is there either which is no problem at all until MOT time......unless you sell it on before it needs one like most owners seem t to do.....also don't think the speedos fitted either

Re: exc-f or xc-f
Besides what the other guys have alrady mentioned main difference's are the gearbox and suspension....
xc-f uses first gear from exc and the other 5 from sx.
Suspension is from SX with the rear using linkage not PDS as found on EXC.
In summary XC-F was made for hare and hounds GNCC type going
Depends what he wants it for really EXC best suited to enduro and trail and XC-f if he plans on just doing hare and hounds.
By the way XC-F can be upto £800 cheaper which is a big incentive.
Hope this helps

Sorry, but youve got the gearbox wrong,, it has a slightlly taller 1st and 2nd, the remaining gears are identical to the exc. Also the suspension has differany internals than the sx,, yes it is twin catridge but set up softer.nate wrote:Besides what the other guys have alrady mentioned main difference's are the gearbox and suspension....

Re: exc-f or xc-f
If he comes from a motocross back ground he'll love the XC-f, you just seem to click with it better - If he's new to enduro bikes either would do because he'll have no comparison. - Most have been converted to have horns/lights etc [not hard to do anyways] I'm sure theres a kit out there for them.
As mention already all EXC/XC-F/XC-W come with 18 rears.

Re: exc-f or xc-f
Mate of mine enquired with et james about the wiring harnesses andother bits and it was a few bob under 300 quid which takes the price upto an exc without the hassle of converting it so thats what he did......buy an exc that is
