Another one stolen - my mates WR250 from Neath area last night 9/9/12 - HF55 AMV

dimwit2 where was it advertised for sale & what area did you but it from? did you meet the seller somewhere or did you go to his house?

this bike was not the usual hare and hounds or not registered as karlos suggests it was taxed mot,d and had number plates on ! otherwise they would not have had the reg num to insure it or apply for the new v5 ! get v5 first before you fork out on insurance ? have a look at the pic tax and plates in view

Point taken Tony, I don't have all the facts and had no way of knowing that dimwit2 had bought the bike with number plates on. Now that's a different matter all together!

A dealer can hpi on the frame number. That would then tell you the reg number.

some insurance companys like carrol nash will insure your bike via the frame number for 14days for you to sort out a V5

The bike came with the number plates and was able to be HPi'd from that. This is a bad situation for all concerned Tony has had the original theft and dimwit2 has also lost out. Hopefully the original perpitrator can be found but even more worrying is how the HPI people hadnt received notification of the bike being stolen over a month after! I have bought many cars and relied on a HPI for piece of mind
