ahh see a HPI check should be good enough.. but it didn't work this time! i have HPI'd this bike i have the HPI print out on the 12 OCT 2012 and its clear..
i have also insured it they did't come up with any problems either! so as for me being a fukin dimwit NOPE !!
we now have a problem because i bought this bike legit.
i have been to the police to try and sort it but no luck there.. so i need the owners phone number
luckily for you an honest person bought it.. 1750 out of pocket now by the look of it!

can't you claim your money back from a hpi company if they feck up ?????

i don't know if there's any comeback on HPI company, they kinda cover themselves pretty good usually,
but if the date this bike was stolen on here is true whats the point of them anyway? i HPI'd it over a month after the date it was aparently stolen! the guy i bought it from had HPI report too..
maybe there's some insurance fraud going on?
and if i had known it was stolen i would even considered buying it! i would have reported it! and i definatly wouldn't be applying for a V5!!

anyway i am going to try the police again,
i feel sorry for the guy it was stolen from, i have thousands of pounds worth of bikes and would never have bought it if i had any idea it was stolen, would hate it if one of my bikes were stolen so i have no doubt the rightful owner will have it back soon.
but remember i bought this bike by the book HPI'd it, insurered it and applied for the V5 and i bought it from somebody a few streets away that i have known for years. so you can't always be sure the HPI is correct! i think i'll stick to buying new bikes from main dealers from now on, maybe you should all do the same??

I would guess there is some sort of trail back to the seller, like where he lives?

Even if you sent the police around to get try to get your money back, or go round yourself and kick the shit out of him, at least you would feel better.

You have my sympathy, not only has tony had his bike nicked, you have to all intents been robbed too.

Thats really bad . HPI checks are supposed to be there to ensure that faithful buyers do not get robbed of their hard earned . I believe in "what goes around , comes around ". Hope that works out for all involved in this mess up . Good luck .
