Re: 450 exc clutch
checked out my clutch this evening and found the plates to be ok, i
think ?, the metal plates inbetween the clutch plates were ok except
for 2 of them
one of them being slightly burnt and the other being a lot more burnt compared to the first one on basket
not
sure what that means as the fault seemed to be clutch slip its an 09
bike so thinking cant really be worn as the plates looked ok
any help welcome as i know f@*k all about this

Re: 450 exc clutch
Because the bike/clutch is relatively new I would suggest this:
check metal plates that have signs of excessive heat for distortion on a flat surface and corresponding fibre plates two of each...
The "fibre blocks" maybe burnt just a couple which makes it difficult to spot caused from the excessive friction when slipping clutch or dragging.
Simple sniff of said items will tell you whether burnt or not...
Also oil becomes a bit wafty did you notice anything?
Simply change the fibres 2 or fibres and metal 4 hope this helps
Because the age of bike personally would reluctant to put a new clutch in.
Some bikes suffer premature clutch failure as springs are not heavy enough unsure if this model suffers with this so leave you do some digging on Ktm forum at the end of the day its the cost of said plates against a new one your choice.
