The Gentle Sunday Ride in Usk
Six of us met in Usk for a gentle day of lanes . Somebody ( despite having an extra hour in bed ) managed to wake up 10 minutes after the time he was supposed to be at his mechanics house , but luckily his butler got him washed and dressed in time .
Mel and Sean arrived , and immediately we lost our man into a crowd of lycra clad women
Soon got stuck into the lanes , and realised this was going to be a ' greasy ' day . London Lane was like buttered slabs .
Lots of team building and sweating heads , but we all got there in the end
Went for a bit of sightseeing after lunch , but was very foggy at the top , or that might just have been the steam coming of Petes bike
A few more pics of the day , including one of Spencers classic training moments when he showed us the proper way to fall back off a bike
when your ambition overtakes your talent
Was a great day out , shame we lost Pete in the afternoon , but his bike was definitely very poorly . And he even donated his battery to Spencer so he could carry on with us
Top man Spozzer for battling that Suzuki lump around all day with limited leg length too He was victim to one of those lanes where he probably lost about half a stone in sweat getting to the top , only to be told we were going back down the same way ( but I think he enjoyed himself )

Cracking pics Rob!
Wish I'd come with you lot now instead of Thorpe park and Essex! Only got to go on two rides cos the queues were so long and they'd sold out of fast track tickets

Great day out Muff - good to have you back up front in the saddle...
not sure about those pics - i think you've gone a bit rusty, or maybe its the Halloween theme - the headless bikers.
I think the funniest part of the day was when it was just me you and spozzer left and he was making all the noises of a dead man riding....
"how far till we get back to the carpark"
"how many more lanes left"
"are they long ones"
"are they hard slippery rocks with steps i'm going to have to drag my bike up"
and you looking at the route, like Dastardly and Muttley
"only another 2 or 3"
"its quicker to ride a few lanes than it is to road burn"
"just another half hour or so"
"not far now - just a little tractor lane - nothing too strenuous"
Oh and hats off to Mel - saving that lamb ... poor fecker managed to get caught up in brambles and had an eye pecked out by a crow - we saved its life cutting it free
