On the other hand you can take a "125cc bike test" and ride ANY motorcycle restricted to 33bhp. If you do take this test for the first 2 years you have to ride a bike which is restricted to 33bhp but do not have to have L plates and can take passengers. However the good thing is after 2 years of taking the test you can take the restrictor out of the bike and you automatically have a full licence!"

125cc test it is! Haha

Bit different to the days of rocking up at the test station on a 250, wazzing about for a bit while a bloke with a clipboard watched, and provided you didn't fall off or do anything else silly you passed and could ride whatever you fancied after! Shocked

Good luck! Very Happy

I did my test about 4/5 years ago - from scratch ...

CBT first - hour in a classroom, 2 hours in a car park, then an hour on the road (I was on a 125) but there were a few 16yr olds on 50's

then theory/hazard perception - then part1 - car park stuff - then part 2 - road stuff

all in all I spent around £700 - tests/lessons/bike hire - and i did it quick...

when the school told me i needed 4 hours lessons before part 1 - i said i'll do it in 2

and when they tried to get me to do 10 hours lessons before part 2 - i said I'll do it in 5

The schools want you to take lessons / spend money - i told them, Im skint and need to pass quick for work

I did have a good instructor - i told him from the off... dont pussy around with me - if I do something wrong slap me - im here to learn, and learn fast

he took my advice and kicked my arse .... when i passed I ran over to him and kissed his bald head

Do you think a 250 would be ok for a commute? Would you advise against finance??
