Last camping weekend of the year
The plan was to not really have a plan, but to get out for a last camping trip before the days getting any shorter and the weather getting any shitter
But the non-plan did include eating lots of cake, doing bits of the TET (http://www.transeurotrail.org/) as and when we crossed it - which has it's up's and downs!
Only a few pic's taken so will try to fill the gaps a bit.......
The vague route took us over the border and through Hay-on-Wye, Llangorse, Pontsticill up the A470 to Heol Senni, Trecastle, Sarn Helen to Llandovery Co-Op for the essentials bacon, eggs, some alcoholic beverages and a bag of marshmallows.......
Then up around Llyn Brianne where we gave up on our (my ) target for camping of Nany-y-Moch
First and best tea stop of many
A few on some lanes near Heol Senni that got quite tricky in places, and does make you wonder how the GS1200 brigade this TET seems to be aimed at would manage
But the lack of any tracks made you wonder if they were either at the nearest Starbucks talking about doing it, or if the lanes were even still legal!
As it was getting darker and damper we chucked the tents up the first place we came to that looked a bit ropey to begin with, but with the wind dropping, a fire lit, a few burgers and a drink inside us things looked up no end
Then as a first for all of us of toasted marshmallows on the fire, and ended up pondering why the Yanks ever thought it was a good idea to ruin a perfectly good sweet by knackering it in a bloody fire, before having another shit nights kip in a tent
Next morning as the sun came up (from the wrong direction according to Phil ) and a full English we were off again....
Around Lyn Brianne, Abergwesyn, Rhayader (more tea) up the golf links, Cwmystwyth and towards Llanidloes
But time was running out due to a combination of TET diversions and tea and cake stops, so headed back via a few last lanes along the way
And we never even got to Nant-y-Moch!

Fair play Gary , looked fun , what on earth is that tank on your bike ? are you planning a trip across Russia without a fill up ?

The original only held 10L and went to reserve after 5!
Whilst it does look a bit daft, can fill this one up at the start of a day and forget about it.
The downside is trying to ride it off road with 20L sloshing about is a bit of a bastard
