My mate had a yzf250 and never had to change a piston or do anything with the valves for the 2 years he had the bike. He reckons as long as you change oil and filter regular then you shouldnt have any problems. He used the bike most wknds and entered several comps on it and it was fine. It was a Yam tho and not a ktm!

Had a new piston at 500 hours & rebuild at 7/800 no need to thrash a 450 tho!
