Common on the 4strokes is the spark plug cap had to change mine every 50 hrs

Just ordered a new cap from AMS, weekend gonna fit that and play about with the idle screws on carb and see if that sorts my problems out.

Still plenty of time to sort it before the xmas rideout santa

Good shout dai was just gonna say cap or plug would have thought if it's jetting the problem would possibly be there all the time rather than just when warmed up......stick a new plug in same time as you change the cap  and cut the cable back a bit too before fitting the new cap.......or burn it and buy a 2smoke cheers

Should of just gone to Grand Prix in Pontardulais for a new cap, could of fitted it tonight and reported back.

If you find it difficult to adjust the mixture screw buy one of the anodised adjustment screws, they have a knob to twist and markings to count turns.

balls didn't think of that.. ordered one already. Gonna try the cap first. Where's the best place to get that tool from? Very Happy

Grand Prix sell those too, usually made by RFX.

It's not a tool as such it replaces the screw in the carb for a longer one with a knob to turn for easy adjustment.

Just tell them you want an anodised fuel mixture screw, they'll know what you're on about

Right, I know what you mean now.

I'll pick one up before the weekend and strip the carb once more, fit the new mixture screw, new spark plug cap and try that. Cool

If that fails I'm going to burn it and go treat myself to a 300 exc 2 stroke Evil or Very Mad Evil or Very Mad
