North Wales Ride .
Not been here for a while . Hope all is well . Here's a quick report ......
It is what it says on the tin . Three awesome days riding with top company . Four from Yorkshire ,one from Lancashire ,nine from Kent/Essex and one from Herts . We started off on Friday from Dolgellau . The weather looked bad and there was snow on the mountain tops but it turned out fairly dry for most of the day .
Switchblade reminded me of The Grim Reaper on this pic...
Then Claptout realised that he had left his padlock plus his ignition key back at the hotel in Llangollen . That has to be a Cock of the Month winner ! Hoyser hot wired it for him but only after I handed him a cordless grinder (don't leave home without one ).
I do believe that Hairy was suffering a similar problem but I failed to document that .
And we're off .....
Moleman needs a taller bike I reckon !
Looks like Steve got a micro roosting .
The bridge over the estuary is a little out of the ordinary and quite scenic too .
Then , there was this little lane . Anyone seen Dancing on Ice ? Me neither . Proper slippery though and it took it's toll on a few .
AndyTandy gave his front pipe The Full Treatment , again , ouch !
Some nice long hill climbs around these parts .
Paul picks away at the greasy rocky descent ,
but it's the innocent grassy trails after this that have claimed a few unsuspecting riders out in the past .
The hottest post box in the valley . Love the way it is part of the structure of the wall .
Ahh , the wee bridge of slideyness . Never fails us .
Victim number two .
If there was anything called a Mountain Whippet , here is the nearest thing to it , ha ha . Switchblade loves the mountains .
Day two was spent playing in Wern Ddu Quarry and it was mint . Clwyd , the guy that owns it charges £25 per rider and even offers free camping to folks that want to ride more than one day . His two stipulations are groups no bigger than fifteen and no stupid pipes . After all , he has to live there once everyone goes home . That's fair enough . Look up Wern Ddu on TwoFacebook for vids of this place . Some top riders there as well plus contact details . It's a hidden gem .
Dale fancied a little run once he had parked his bike near the top .
A bit of everything at this place .
as my stunt man shows us !
Third an final day fro Llangollen was a tad moist but still a hoot . Steve Switchblade missed the quarry as he had things to do but came back from Preston for this one . The Yorkshire massive had gone home on Saturday night owing to the fact that they are lightweights , ha ha . Just joshing . We had lost AndyTandy on Friday . I reckon that he had The Hump about his exhaust pipe . I would have been pissed off if it was me as he goes through a few of 'em .
Twas another class day in The Berwyns though .
Ooh look , someone taking a rest at Pandy . This place can be so deceiving but just wants to send the bike sideways in the wet .
a bit of Berg twiddling .....
Mmmmm. Bogs .
Fallen trees had to be met with contingency plans ,like riding into upright ones .
I reckon the wind must have been 80 mph up here , it was sitting down weather . Legs out and paddle . That's the Killer , not the Hill .
Another storming weekend with a solid bunch . Keep it real folks .
