KTM Try out Day Video
Spent Saturday up at Ady Smith KTM Training school .
All the 2014 bikes there to try.
Whole day to play on as many bikes as you could , with some basic training techniques , off camber riding , positioning etc , then some trail rides and muck abouts around his mx course . I stuck to the 2 strokes as that's why I'd gone . First on the EXC 200 , nice and light , i felt right at home on it , bit different from my 350 excf , but you could pootle on it , but also scream it like a banshee ( mostly me just spinning up , but in an enjoyable way) . Then onto the 300 - felt a real weapon ( or would be in the right hands) . I felt it was just too much for me , as was the 250 , in as much as they were similar size to my excf and needed some respect . The 200 let me blast about like a hooligan without making me feel like I could die at any minute . Finally the Freeride 250 - I was expecting a little gem , but to be honest it felt like a barky old 80's 2 stroke , same size issue I had with old Freeride - gave it back after 10 mins . Back on the 200 , and it was happy days again ! Opinions differed , as one guy tried my 200, and hated it , ended up wanting the EXCF 450 all day . At the end of the day , you could have ridden all the bikes ( except the Freeride maybe) all day quite happily . Few bent levers , but all made it back to the park up in one piece . Great scenery , dry all day , and some good company .

Cracking report & vid Rob
Looked a good day, great way to ride before you buy & looked like Ady let you loose on all types of terrain too! What the day out cost ?

That was the stinger - about £180 , but it was a useful day , and a unique chance to ride the bikes in all the sorts of places you'd want to , back to back . I'll just have to make sure I haggle that much extra off if I buy one !

Two questions.
Why did you get rid of your free ride?
Did you try 125 as well?
Cheers
type of day by the looks of it...

Re: KTM Try out Day Video
I liked the 4 stroke freeride , only sold it as I got the 350excf , as for long trail days it was a bit uncomfy and fuel a bit of an issue .Otherwise it was a lovely bike , and I could have kept it really . The 2 stroke one seemed a bit gruff compared to the 4 stroke one. I didn't try the 125 , they had one there , but I forgot ! I fancied a 2 stroke cos I wanted something totally different as second bike .
