do you buy the next size down to the tyre so you have some give in it or the same size as the tyre?

always buy the mousse oversize. So if you got an 18" tyre go for a 24" mousse. Cut the excess off then in 3 mousse time you'll have a free one. And the bits you cut off you can always carry around in your rucksack in case you get a puncture or somat ?
