Cambrian Rally
Having never done one of these things, entered it as a bit of a spur of the moment thing and think I understand now why not many on here bothered!
It was like a trail ride without the hard bits, but with timed bits
Me and Ray rolled up in plenty of time (despite the crap signs) and stuck some numbers on and waited for the off where Ray told me there was a French TV crew interviewing people in French - it turned out to be Ralio the S4C lot
One of the more interesting thing's was the diversity of bikes entered bloody great KTM rally bikes, a BMW HP1, Cagiva Elephants etc.
In my group alone was a WR, a CRF 230 and a mint Triumph Tiger!
Half way around the second lap, and on the first timed bit carnage broke out on a fast forestry road.
We came around a corner to find bikes and bodies all over the place - on the road, in ditches and a KTM Adventure thing half way up a tree, we considered stopping for about half a second then kept going.
Meeting an Ambulance coming the other way whilst flat out on a slight bend was one of the most exciting bits of the weekend for me
There was a massive delay just after to allow the air ambulance to cart a few off, when that was full the less battered got rides in 2 more ambulances leaving no cover hence the delay
Same shit again!
Eventually got back to a strange B&B in Llandovery that was like one of those 'living museums'
Not only was the Teasmaid from the 70's but the biscuits were as well
After ignoring all Wolfy's advice, Ray then went out and had a skinfull, but did make a new little friend
Up at sparrow fart again for the trek back up to Llyn Brianne and day two.
I bumped into Jez and his mate - which was good because my 'southern softy' mate faded out after 1 lap, and had some blasts on the way around with them instead
Same course of about 30 miles x3 but in reverse this time.
Less excitement from the kamikaze KTM's this time, but they still found a way to make us all stand in the middle of nowhere in the pissing for almost an hour again!!
From there on slugged it out in the pissing down rain (again!!!) for a finish

At breakfast the landlady told us her husband had bought her a peado metre - I was imagining her trying to suss out who all the peado's were in Llandovery with it when I realised she meant a pedometersteve wrote: Think that B&B must be the next step up from mells tent

I remember I used to go to an old B&B , and the guy said - " please don't use the toilet after 11pm as it wakes my wife up " , I said " no problem , I always use the sink anyway ." Real collection of bikes there by the looks of it !

I also think you might find it a bit tame after doing things like the Welsh Two Day
