Hi all
who would you recommend that you would trust 100% to sort out the jetting on my 300 as I can’t get it right :-(

Pete, what is the problem with following the book/manual. I adjust mine in autumn to winter settings and spring back to summer lot.

elvis need some advice from you bud, think my beta 2 stroke is running a little rich out of the factory, ive done 12 hours on it and am currently running 120mls per gallon (so not that rich) its just a little fluffy-ish until its on song for a bit.

What would you recommend (altering needle jet is it?)

thanks in advance

When I got the bike it was running very rich and I have now managed to get it somewhere near but still suffering from spodge but that could be due to the way I ride, I cannot get it to where it should be and don’t want to risk going any further on my own and ending up with it running to lean and knackering my engine so would rather take it to someone with more knowledge than me. So please can you give your recommendations as to who I should use?
Regards Pete

What jets you running currently??
TAffspeed in Newport (racing scooter specialists) but have a rolling road setup!! think they charge about £35 to test and adjust/advise..

What carb and size carb you got on it??
My 300 Gasser - Keihin 38mm carb, Pilot jet = 35 / main jet = 175.
I'm getting mid 30's to the gallon on a flowing run....was originally running 40 Pilot jet, mine's much crisper low down now, felt like a massive difference the first 2 rides !!
300's like a drink !!!

What setting you got on the needle skippy...sure i read somewhere you need to drop the needle on them gassers.
The reason i ask is plugmunchers gasser is doing like 30mile to a tank full affraid & needs to get it sorted, its a 06/07 model if that makes any differnce.

My needle is on the top clip
(so the needle is at its lowest point when off throttle)
Plugmunchers will be exactly the same as mine except from the 10mm reed block spacer and different cap, his will be a round plastic twist off ... is he local Wolf?

My 07 was running 178, main, not sure about needle jet...think it was on a 40 ??

Not sure if the actual needle makes a difference also ??? the one I had in my 07 was N1ef, this one is different,,cant remember the number though!!

If it helps...Pilot jet controls upto first 60% of open throttle....

I really dont know about the Beta set up but you are mixing it very rich i think. Ktm reccommend 60:1 but i keep it at a wise 50:1 for longevity and she is running sweet. 50:1 equals 100ml of oil to 5 litres so you are way to rich there i think.. check the manual for there reccmmendations or phone steve Plain, he is very experienced mechanic.
Also Ktm say to run on the better quality higher octance fuel.

I run 50/1 also...as recommended by Gasgas. = 20ml oil per ltr of petrol.
