Re: Couple from the weekend
Thanks Wolfy for the comments re. the panniers. I did infact make these myself solely for the purpose of our trip to Wales and back, knowing that I had a whole load of stuff to take with me, too much for a rucksack - tent, sleeping bag, clothes etc.. etc... Read all about their construction at the below link (if you're interested? :| ) They held out superbly considering the abuse they took. That said, the only time I had a slight issue was after the ascent up the rocky and bumpy climb from the bottom of the reserviour. When we got to the trail at the top that runs along the ridge I noticed they'd slipped to one side a bit but an extra bungee from a mate sorted them good n proper so no more movement there after!

As for your question as to how I faired in the peat bog at the ridge all luggaged up and with an MT43 on the rear, I was fine ............. others weren't so as you can see. Poor RichT4, chose the wrong rut

Thats a brilliant picture for a "what am I thinking" thread
The look on his face says it all.
Great write up on the luggage rack, you should go into buisness.

"You should go into business" Thanks, and you wouldn't be the first to say that but I got better things to do with my time (father too) I'd also advise that if anyone plans on needing such luggage carrying abilities for a KTM EXC cos they plan on doing some distance, DON'T, you'll get a very sore ar$e !!!

Cracking pic's done a little bit of trail bike camping myself, tryed small super bike panniers last time.
Which felt ok on the road but off road.....not for me!, if a rucksack & a tent straped to the rear mudguard don't do the job then its a B&B for me.
