elan valley p2 smell the chips
nice to meet a few more of the forum troops on friday ....
the ride didnt go quite to plan but "hey ho" i just love getting out there
heres a few pics i took
this is motel hill, i told the guys to have a good look qt it on the way down because we would be going up it later in the evening (bit of a mistake)
this next lane takes you up onto epynt ranges...nice and easy friday but its a bitch in the wet
a bit of maintenance on the go
fuel stop no 1 beulah
a play on the road upto abergwesyn
moggs practising his trials skills......(must try harder fella)
a bit of a play on the devils staircase
the road to strata
end of strata
another one for dougs album....fair play if 2 punctures in less than a mile in 30deg heat aint insentive enough to invest in mousses i dont know what is
only one pic over nant y moch as id lost the will to live by then
considering we were a group of 13 bikes going on a long one we didnt do too bad at all, a couple of breakdowns are inevitable, by the time we decided to head back we were in spitting distance of our destination i was certain i could smell chips coming from the chipshop in machynlleth
high street :joker:
i learned a few things on friday too
1 east wales timezone is different to west wales
2 never turn your back on graham when hes got oil in his hands
3 mousses are better than tubes *(by a fecking lllllllong way)
4 all dayer means different things to different people
but the biggest lesson i learned was ....never poke your nose in sombody elses thread and offer to lead
so until the next one fellas

Juljam thanks for poking your nose in and leading the rabble .... it was a cracking ride despite the heat and dust. And to be honest I really enjoyed the roadwork too (except the last half hour) .. fab scenery on the devils staircase approaching Strata Florida.

Jul's yeah, twas lots of roadwork, but the lanes we did do were superb, Loved Motel Hill, If that was the steep downhill we did, and loved the stoney climb not long after it, Strata was all you really need when trailriding, some good water crossings, Keep your eye out for a ride over the East, we usually start around 9:30, but i know you'll be there early as your watch is half an hour infront of ours over these parts Cheers again, we owe you a ride over these parts fella, come on over...Cheers Skip....

Thats the only problem riding around here theres some good lanes but you've got to link them with road work but saying that a fair bit of that friday was not on the plans...especially the last 20 miles from beulah down....i recon nobody wanted to ride back up motel hill....well except me and dean 69 anyway

I won't let Shepy take the fall, it was me who pulled the plug!
We got to Beulah & my missus rang with a family emergency, so thanks to Doug who could see the worry on my face & comforted me with his soothing words on the drive back, but by the time I got home the damage was done, 6 cans of magners gone! I was too late, they had slipped down her throat before I got there.
Cracking day out tho, big thanks to Jul for showing us around & thanks to everyone else for providing the entertainment. Cant wait to do it again.

Great Report & pic's jul
Fairplay to you for jumping in too...., i don't see the problem with the tarmac between good lanes, gives you time to rest & take in the scenery i think.
