Drone turned up
Months ago Taffy stuck up a link for a little drone that could follow you . Muggins here ordered one ( about £200 ), then after a bit of research on google , realised it was still in development , and that it would never live up to its hype , and was either a scam or a pile of poop
About a month later i get refunded most of my money back after about a million emails
Then on Friday a box turns up - yep , the drone
[You must be registered and logged in to see this link.]
Small enough to fit in your hand ( and rucksack )
Works off an Iphone app , but not my Iphone 4 - needs something a bit more recent
10 minutes flying time ( more like 5 )
So far - i can get it to hover , go up and down , and spin about , but apart from that its next to useless .
3 or 4 times its just randomly set off on its own as if its trying to escape .
Its got a ' follow me' feature - but seems to be following someone else as far as i can see
Coincidentally a mate turned up on Sat with a proper drone in his car , Phantom 3 , which apparently is still basic - but we gave it a try and it was awesome , especially compared to my matchbox .
Still , can't grumble for a virtual freebie .

I've seen footage a bit like that before - but it was from a camera attached to someone's helmet

Re: Drone turned up
There was an offer on in aldi,s the other week on cameras.
But they were sold out and ended up coming out with a huge Drone about 2 foot square and a built in camera looked awesome in the box.
brought it home thought wtf i bought this for?
So then thought i,d give it to my old man for fathers day but of course i had to test it first init
Shot up in the air turned on its side crashed down about 40ft and self destructed
Stuck it back in the box took it back and said its not working
Managed to get a refund through.
