Play in front wheel.
Changed my front wheel bearings the other week but still had some play in the wheel, the bearings were cheap ones off eBay so I decided to get some skf to replace them thinking they might just be crap bearings, fitted the new bearings today but still got play in the wheel!! When I took the old ones out two tiny slithers of metal came out..looks like the hub might be knackered, probably damaged when fitting bearings!! Couldn't really feel anything in the hub but I'm assuming this is the issue..
Is there something else I could be missing that would cause this....???
A new hub is £130 from gasgas!!! Then a wheel rebuild still to do!!! If this is the case..or!!!
Anyone got a spare 21" front wheel to sell....D.I.D. Dirtstar wheel is the standard gasgas wheel..

Re: Play in front wheel.
Are the bearing a tight fit in the hub?
Are the spokes loose?
Can't really be the spacers as a y free play disappeares when you tighten up zee nut thingy on the end of spindle.

Re: Play in front wheel.
Problem solved...It was my method!!! I tightened the spindle down before tightening the bolt on the end of the spindle!! Doh!!! Loosened the 2x 10mm top bolts on the right hand side and tightened up the bolt, pulling the spindle through and closing the gap causing the play!! Phil, your reply clicked my brain into gear...cheers.....Thanks both for the replies, bikes now ready to roll again... :bounce:
