If satellite's start dropping out of the sky trail riding won't be my priority
It is possible to use grey matter and a bit of technology at the same time!

I find using the sat nav in the car numbs the brain, You don't pay enough to your surrounding as you would normally because your watching that thing, Not paying the same attention as if you were following signs/maps
Anyway I know im not going to win this I was just fishing and I got a bite a old one but still a bite

Re: Garmin Montana 600
There should be a rubber flap to go over it mateshocker wrote:Got the Garmin Montana 600 and the Ram mounted cradle to give continuous power.
Has anyone found a way to protect the contacts from shit, rain and the bottom of rivers etc. when the Garmin isn't in the cradle?
Or do you have to take it all off when you want to use the bike without it, which would be a pain in the arse due to it being hard wired in!

Yeah, it sits in the bottom of the cradle when the garmin is in it but then you lift it out and over the contacts when the garmin isn't in there
I can be sensible sometimes see

You can get them with or without mapping mate and you'll need the cradle and ram mount for the bike so it's constantly powered as it won't last a full day on full brightness otherwise. I think a 660 has a camera built in, can't see the point in that myselfkirky wrote:I been looking at these , do they come loaded with maps and what is batttery life like ? Re: Garmin Montana 600
Not had mine long, so far from an expert with these things, but whilst the battery lasted ages (and has the capability of sticking some either AA or AAA jobs in) also easy to hard wire in so the backlight can be left on making it easy to see in bright sunlight
No maps, but a nice man off here sorted that out for bugger all
It's also built like a tank compared to the Memory Map I had before!
