Monday 26th - A Very Quick Report

Day started well - spent yesterday fettling the bike and giving it some love so it was running lovely and the weather was looking great

Arrived to meet the lads @ 10am on the outskirts of Newport,quick fuel top up and introductions to those of us who haven't met before and off we go in search of mud.

after a couple of miles of road work its onto the first lane.a nice gentle leaf covered one with banks either side - just right for a quick warm up
Riding third in the group i follow the others and about 50 yards in my front wheel hits a rock and throws the bike sideways.It was such a slow speed off i end up leaning against the bank still on the bike.Picked it up fired it back into life ready to go again but the leaking water falling on my left boot meant the rad had taken the brunt of the fall

now im no mechanic but im sure it aint meant to be this shape





So 10 minutes in and im faced with limping back home.Said my goodbyes to the lads and wished them a safe trip and after a quick pit stop for a bottle of water i headed home stopping every couple of miles to top the radiator up

Bit of a bummer but looking forward to seeing their proper report later

nah she scratched that last month so im in the clear

Looks like that was quite a whack mate. I gave mine a little tickle a few months back, nowhere near as bad as that tho.

Meant to get some rad guards but forgot all about it - you just reminded me.

Trying to upload some pics, but my cat has taken a liking to my phones usb lead!!!! so having a bitof troube at the Mo!! Started out at 10:00 got back around 17:15....good ride loads of different terain covered good company and a cracking laugh..more reports will follow...

dicky, I think that might cost a bit more than £40 !! :!:

Cant you get it repaired? should be easy enough to straighten bent mine loads not quite that bad mind
find the leek and solder it maybe?

Bit of bad luck that, the old air cooled thumpers dont have that worry

it does seem to be just a crack at the top where it has split at the joint where the top cap is attached so i reckon it could be repaired.

Anyone know a repairer in the cardiff/newport area ?

Ricketts radiators was mentioned earlier today but they are down in swansea
