Afternoon ride 5th June
Did a load of UCR's in the area between Abergavenny/Raglan/Monmouth with Geraint today until the lure of shopping was too tempting
Unfortunatly only realized the camera was set wrong after he'd gone so sadly no 'retro trailly' pic's today
Some pic's below of the variety of lanes here. Easy ones, bloody hard ones and a few in between.
Here's an interesting one.
I'm parked in the only access road to the house in the background!
The (friendly) owner came out and obviously knew the lane (start of it next pic) was a right of way, but said loads had tried to get up it but always came back as it was blocked/fenced, but you might get up the field along side it instead?
I didn't bother today, but will try next time after checking it's legality, then might try and find out who the report the blockage to and get it unblocked as it looked a good 'un
Just couldn't understand why these good lanes didnt look a bit more 'used' with load's of undergrowth and no tyre tracks??
I didn't see a single 4x4, bike, push bike, horse or best of all walkers

He sure did!
This was it the other way. I'm surprised he wasn't more pissed off when 'traffic' came up his road!

Good report & pics Shocker
Think i met the same freindly! guy a couple of weeks ago, at a clance the metal gate looks chained with lock but u can lift the gate & chain over the post. i had a look so far but the lane seemed to go into a farmers field & from the map was not sure if it was legal....But! 50m back down the road there is a ucr which is blocked with fallen trees, if i am in the same place?
Is it legal to clear a blocked ucr off your own back?....or does it need to be reported?....

It sound's very much like it is the same place - nr. Llangattock Lingoed?
After a closer look at the map (with glasses this time!) and the internet, it looks like the blocked UCR you mention just before is the right of way, and the track past the blokes house is a bit more debateable - yet the bloke who lived there thought it a right of way??
It looks like a job for someone with the time and inclanation to study difinative maps down the council offices
