Tyre bead seating
Just fitted a new AC10 on the rear wheel and can't get the bugger to seat quite right.
It look OK, but feels like it's not seated
Now tried with some special tyre fitting jollop (look's like Swarfega) and inflated it to 70psi with no luck
Usually a bit of fairy liquid and 50 psi max does the trick.
Any tips welcome or are AC10's always swines??

Re: Tyre bead seating
think the compound is harder than most bud.....hence its an hard wearing tyre.....without wanting to sound patronising, is it the correct size?

Yep. Exactly the right size, and half the reason i bought it as most proper FIM approved tyre's a bit wide.
I think i can see what you mean about it being a hard compound though, as it slides about a bit on wet roads.
Maybe it is seated, and just feels 'wrong' due to the (bit crap) way it rides - think i'll take it off again, make sure the rim is really clean inside and turn it over
Thanks

Hi Shocker,
If you can see the Line on the tyre just above the rim and its visable all the way around on both sides then its probably on tidy.
if the line dips just inside the rim then try defating it and bounce the back wheel.
Works for me!

I've now had it on and off 3 times, bounced it, done 2 days riding on it, and beat it with ever increasingly big hammers.
The line now looks the same all the way around, so going to try it again tomorrow and see if it still feels 'wrong' or not
Begining to think there's bugger all wrong with the tyre, and it's just my paranoia!
Thanks
