Re: Dawn to Dusk 2011.
Did it this year, the 6 hour. It was my first event and the first time I rode my 200 exc. I loved it and will do it again next year, I always kick the arse out of things and was going to do the 24hr on my own just to see if I could . But if there's a team wanting to do the 24 then count me in.

24 hours on your own
Fair play for even thinking it.

Re: Dawn to Dusk 2011.
Spoke to the wife about and she thinks I'm off my tits but she asked me teach her how to spanner , nice but a recipe for disaster I think. I did'nt put any fast laps in during the 6 hr but just stayed steady and stopped for a max of 10 minutes for refuels, there was a couple of bits that I hated ( two consecative up hill sections near the finish and a deep rutted section) and the bike would always stall going down hill but apart from that it was fun, one of the most important things I learnt was HYDRATION, piss was like poridge. I came 9th in my class which I was well chuffed with for my first event.

I would love to, proper team effort! To be envolved is all part of the fun. Fast, slow it dont matter its about being consistent and having abit of luck to. Also being frickin anal about bike prep. I ran new mouses for the event which was the right choice but should have been broken in alot more to make them softer, even at the Caio enduro they were probably the equilivent to a 13 psi tubed tire=no grip. I'm happy to put forward my 300 exc for the team event which has more torque and power than the 200 exc which was good but you realy need that low rev torque rather than manic power. Would be less tiring to. But atleast with the mouses you dont have to worry about punctures as you all know its rocky terrain. Hay ho, I'm new here at dont want to over step my mark, so I'm happy to be just involved.

Re: Dawn to Dusk 2011.
Made the choice, 24hr solo it is not that I don't want to be part of the team just that I want to see if I can do 24hrs on the bike, not saying I'll do well just that I did it. Bonus is that I will have the motor home there for a RV point for refreshments done by the wife for everyone. Also I will be able to join you guys during your race and let you know what the score is, we could also have our pits together even though we're in a different race, going to try and get a 12/12 army tent which would sort all of us out, with generator and heaters. The 300 exc will be fully rebuilt and the 200exc be in reserve, can't wait. Training starts on Monday mainly for my winter season surfing but I think real training for the D2D is on the bike at least 3 hrs per week, on way to to train for a sport is to do that sport plus a few extra bits, cardio etc.
