    Moelfre City

Post by shocker on Sun Aug 13, 2017 6:43 pm

After hearing a lane known as Moelfre City had been chained and locked at the southern end went and had a look today.....

Sure enough, bloody big lock on the gate even thought it's marked as a Byway on the map!
I bumped into farmer just up the road, who called him an arse hole then showed me a cracking little diversion around the locked gate, but in return asked if I could email/call this bloke at the council to complain, and get the obstruction shifted

Maybe the more people that do, the better???

And it's Moelfre City Byway LB645

it's a long lane (about 5 miles) and whilst not very hard, has some cracking views

Ill send him an email monday when im bored ....

I googled it and found this .....

the important bit is this paragraph ....

Officers have made a site visit to review the situation with regard to the
gate referred to and carry out detailed site surveys. Their assessment is
that the gate is not actually located on the byway, but rather a few
metres to the south of its southern end, as recorded on the Definitive
    Map.

To be honest I'm a TRF member, but don't find them great!
One meeting listening to all that cliquey, secret squirrel shit was enough

Hence will get sending my own email, and hopefully able to encourage a few others here to do the same

As the farmer I met showed me a route across his fields that I could use "this once" not sure sticking exactly where it is on here a good idea!
But am going to a Mid Wales TRF meeting soon (glutton for punishment me!) so will ask thier ROW person for an update and let you know
