Nissin Front caliper...
Just noticed after having crap front brakes on the way home that there is brake fluid coming from what look like the bottom piston...are there seals inside (not the feckin mackerel breath bastards)..
and how do you get the piston out, could there be shit in there..(not the brown stuff that comes out of my ass 5 times a day)
any help as always apprieciated.
KTMJON need not reply.

Re: Nissin Front caliper...
fluid always runs downwards, the seals are normally found in a recess of the caliper body rather than on the piston, take caliper off its mounting bracket, pads removed and pump front brake lever till they pop out and inspect pistons/ caliper body for wear and pitting then if all ok renew seals and any dirt shields and then replace fluid and bleed system any good ma boy ?

Re: Nissin Front caliper...
Right, as always nothing is as straight forward...Stripped the caliper, removed pistons and cleaned..seals looked ok, reassembled and filled with fluid. Took it for a quick spin and and now ive fork oil all over the caliper and disc [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]
took the valve from the bottom of fork and the bottom seal had been split and crushed...forks had recently been to DR Shox! so ive taken both out and now need to find out how much fork oil and what type...

about a 110mm air gap I would guess - amd wit the big boy on board better go to 7.5wt oil should make a bit of a difference to your front end handling. looking back I would say that it's been leaking for a while if you had handling issues last week. Dont buy the cheap all balls seals they are shite!
