Rear tyre recomendations Empty Rear tyre recomendations

Post by powell9539 Mon May 22, 2017 3:36 pm

After some help with tyres size and make, its currently running a 140/80 18. Brand wise im being told AC10 but someone else has said they are too soft and that metzlers are better? Also im being told to change the size one person has told me 110/100 and someone else told me 120/80 i think it was. Any help or recomendation would be a great help.

I think its a matter of each to their own mate, I think a perfect combo is a Mitas EF07 single green Rear (140)(but very soft) & a Michelin Comp 6 front (excellent bite), both running Mousses, I think a 110 would be ok on a MX track but with this lot I think the wider the foot print the better, but I have never tried a 110 anyway.

BTW the Ac10 is ok, not great, but will out last a Metzeler MCE Extreme, but I'm sure others will give their input aswell Ride

On that note if i start at a 120 it should be agood middle ground to work from to see were i am, was told the ac10 is a good alrounder so suppose it could also be agood place to start.

Be careful with an AC10 on the front some say they give you no warning before wiping out affraid affraid
I like comp 6 front & comp 3 or 4 rear grip is awesome, Last ok-ish but who cares as long as you don't end up on your nose or over a hedge on a wet road head but head but head but head but head but

I'm Not sure what's on the front to be honest ill have to check, I've been on the road and it grips well what ever it is, it slid abit on a decent down a slag tip the other day but nothing unexpected really. Sorry the other tyres recommended is a Mitas anyone used these?

I use black round ones - the harder you pull your brakes the easier it is to skid and fall off  Very Happy
