Off road Virgin

Hi guys

I have been riding bikes since I was 18 (now 47) but have never ridden off road, what are my best options for riding off road, I would love to join some off the rides you guys do on here, but will probably be well out of my depth, what would you recommend for me?

Wait till you see a ride posted and ask if you can join it.
If you find it to hard going you can always go home early and wait for anther ride and join that.
That way you,l get to meet people and get an idea what rides suit you.

If you see a ride posted for the woods or Wye Valley avoid them for a few months

Good luck these guys are nuts

Look out for "Newbie ride" or "Ride will suit all" if your unsure...but sometimes its best to just jump straight in, No one ever gets left behind & if anyone has a problem with bike or just had enough all the ride leader's & riders on here i know will make sure you get to the road & make sure you know your way back or will make sure you get there if needed   Like Steve said tho....! if woods /explore/ the wye/ river crossings/ night lights are mentioned... Tis best to wait for the next one

Welcome Andy , like they say , best just turning up and having a laugh and see how it goes  . I remember my first few rides , I fell off about every 50 yards , but at the end of the day I was buzzing . Very helpful bunch here .

Sssshhh! You'll scare em away but yes that was the one didn't see Lewis for a while after that one either! Then my Barmouth ride and Dave's snoring finished him off never to be seen again

Maybe change it from ' Newbie ' to ' Fresh Meat ' ? You can't beat a Wye ride with a few virgins
