damper rod is turning in the fork (road bike)
On my road bike forks I am trying to change the fork seals.
I have cracked the nut on the bottom of the forks that goes into the damper rod but the other fork is proving to be a twat. to the point where the nut is spinning but not coming out of the damper rod and the whole fork insides are turning with it, even tho the top cap is still on. I have held the top nut in place but it still spins.
I have drilled it and put an easy out in the nut previous to this but she wouldnt budge. The nut is about 10 mm inside the fork. Apart from taking the whole of the head off the nut I cant see any way out of this. The nut is super hard and Ive gone through 3 drill bits already and still not done......
Any ideas how I can get it out guys...

Put a tie down over the handle bars and the front fork spindle. Ratchet the forks to compress the f@@k out of em...

On upside down forks yes. On conventional forks the seals will slide all the way off the chrome stations.

When you pull the station out of the slider i think it should pull the seal out and the bearing?
