Hiya Neil. Love to join in on a road jolly. I've got an adventure bike thingy and love it makes more sense than a sports bike ,it's an age thing ! ( miss the rush thou)

Bit early to be in 100% for the Scot trip quite yet Are you going to ride up? Must admit if France is on the cards that defiantly gets my vote out of the two. Cracking bike choice Neil , my 990r will look a bit naff next to it!!

It's a big bike but handles better than it should! I really like it Off road my arse, she's a minter had it from new ,have ridden on some gravel mountain roads in Canada which was great but a serious lesson in throttle control. A BMW gs with attitude sort of sums it up!

the R looks a lot nicer than the S and im a bit sceptical about ABS in a bike

Yep no abs on the r just got to be sensible on the brakes not an issue thou Little  bit taller than the s so not for any shorties and a couple more horses to play with  For me the r  feels a bit more Dakarish ,it's what Ktm designed the bike for in the first place   so compared to taffys new machine its bog standard  but the 990r ticks a lot off boxes it's got everything you need

Oh yeah the r on a 21 inch front. So a bit limited on tyre choice
