Tyre/moose changer Empty Tyre/moose changer

After seeing the price of the rabaconda affraid I decided to have a little experiment and buy the £40 one off eBay! With one small modification it works really well and will push the tyre and moose all the way off the rim! A saving of £200 cheers
I can highly recommend it if you're just trail riding as it still took me 25 minutes for front and rear but that's much better than the 3 hours it took last time Laughing

Done a similar thing to mine but with the addition of two blocks welded to the top of the fork to stop it swinging about too much still takes me 3hrs plus tho Laughing

I don't mind scratching me rims though so I was a bit ape handed with it Laughing looking at the YouTube vids of people doing it there is definitely a technique to it scratch

If I use tyres matched to the mousses it's easy to fit, if they are mis matched it can be a shit fight to get them on. I couldn't get the Dunlop d952 with a Michelin mouse on the rim for love nor money.

Cracking mod tho Joe, I was going to dust and weld an extension on mine, but your box section mod looks spot on!

I thought about cutting it and welding a piece of flat in but I thought to have it that length all the time would be a pig when you're just pushing the tyre down to get the levers under, it's only needed for pushing the tyre completely off after so nice and easy to just pull two bolts and remove it cheers
I had to notch the box at the bottom to allow the push plate to fit and just welded two washers to the outside, I'm quite surprised it worked so well first time! I thought I was gonna have to mess about with it for ages Laughing

I'm just suprised bits of ply wood and cable ties weren't involved in the 'modification'  Smile Smile

If you notice carefully in the top pic there are some cables ties on the floor Laughing I thought about it but then I thought something would snap and I'd end up smashing myself in the face with a lever like Rob done lol!
