Put ATF in gearbox for first time today found shifting difficult and very notchy combined with clutch slip, have I used the wrong type of ATF (Dexron 3) or is that just the way it is.

Its the right oil simon but no such problems with my bike you sure you aint got a clutch thats on its way out?? Dont think the oil would make it slip sounds like you may have weak springs or worn plates..... id drain it out and stick your regular oil back in to try scratch

I used to stick the same stuff in a Beta Evo, and if anything it made the clutch action lighter without any slip cheers

As above, I've only ever ran ATF oil in the gearbox on trials bikes to reduce slip.
