Chains & Sprockets
I got my BMW MOT'd a couple of weeks ago the guy did say my chain was due replacing as it was very stretched and my sprocket looked a bit worn...
anyway my boss summonsed me up to London last week so i did a quick 400 mile round trip to London, then my son came home from the Isle of Wight for the bank holiday and needed a lift back to Southampton - so we jumped on the bimmer fully loaded up - chain a bit more stretched...
I decided rather than coming straight home to go see some family in London and come home the following day about another 600 miles on the clock..
As i got off the M4 and on the A465 i heard a loud clicking noise and had very little power the chain has about 3 inches play and the sprocket looks like a 50p piece - i think this is the BMW early warning system that its time to change the chain and sprockets...
my question is - whats the difference between a O ring and an X ring chain ?
im not sure of the best one to order ....

Re: Chains & Sprockets
X-rings are supposedly better due to 2 contact points for sealing rather than the o-rings 1 sealing point.
On a road bike I'm not quite sure how much of a difference that would make, especially since I cant see you offroading the beemer into a bog
As far as road bikes go I'm not sure what sort of chains they run.

I may be no specialist, but given your links above I'd be choosing DID over a "ChoHo" chain, sounds like a bloody take away not a chain
