had to get a new thread incerted into the drain level plug, so i had to remove the right hand side casing, anyway, checked valves, changed oil and filters. whilst the casing was off i noticed that the gear lever and spline had about an inch movement in and out. put casing back on, play gone, but she's stuck in second gear. clutch works fine, but cant change gear.

what the fuck have i done now. [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]

sounds like the gear selector shaft has dropped its selector fork whilst you were sliding the shaft too and fro, would have thought it would have a circlip or something to hold it all in place. could be a strip down job ma boy ?

Drained the feckin oil back out, removed right hand casing and investigated the problem, didnt take my over developed brain long to spot the problem.

Metal finging had come off the other metal finging. If anyone can educate me on the correct terminology feel free. Apart from Wege who is probably pissed on 6 litres of plonk already.

Took some pics for you geeks to beat one out over the internals of the greatist off road machine ever built. ummm ya bastards.

As advised selector fork/pawl had disengaged from its fulcrum pivot roller. Ah fuck it, shit design !!!!.
