Any suspension experts?

Post by shocker on Wed Oct 28, 2015 8:45 pm

Does anyone even bother trying??

20 years ago I tried on a '88 Husky 250 and simply  made it unridable, so put everything back to the middle settings and never messed about much with what i don't understand since!

Now got a CRF with a handbook and the urge to try again Very Happy

The plan is to reduce to sag to the correct amount (-40mm) by increasing spring pre-load, then fiddle with the rebound and damping settings to get it soft enough for trail riding rather than Supercross  Shocked

Now wondering if it's a job best left to a pro, have a go and see what happens or just crack and ride even if it's all wrong??

There's a chap called Brokenlegs on the ktm forum that's supposed to know everything there is to know about suspension.

Get your spring rates right for your weight, done this on my berg and its a different bike then set the clickers to suit yourself, for valving take it to a pro.
