Re: wrf super heavy clutch lever
I remember reading online about fitting the earlier Wr/yz springs which are slightly longer, to make it easier to find neutral whilst the bike is running.
2001 WR CLUTCH SPRING FREE LENGTH - 40.4mm
2002 and later 37mm
Would the extra few mm clutch spring make the clutch lighter as well?

Re: wrf super heavy clutch lever
As it happens the one's i took out that gave the lighter clutch were slightly longer than the new (shorter) one's, but didn't measure them
Thought about Rekluse and the hydraulic conversation, but didn't really fancy either much
Then changed to a CRF which despite also being an old fashioned cable is almost as light as the hydraulic one on those orange girly bikes for people with limp wrists

Yeh I had a crf x recently, clutch was super light. I do miss the Orange bikes for the hydraulic clutch.
Just stripped my Wrf apart, the concave spacer was still fitted. So my theory is out

Shocker mentions spring sizes - got me thinking....
when I took my rekluse off i left the fatter gasket on
I was told the rekluse has to have the fatter gasket - but the "normal" clutch setup can use either
If i replace the gasket with the thinner one do you think that would make a difference ?

Nope, this is the gasket on the cover case so it didnt interfere with the rekluse, all it does now is give you a few extra cc's of oil capacity which is a good thing. There are extra sets of metal plates in your standard clutch now, we can try taking one out at a time to lower the pressure on it, but it may start introducing clutch slip. If you want to try it, i dont mind taking that cover off again for the 14th time

I reckon every time Pete operates on Dudes bike , he's just taking out any good bits and popping any old shit back in , then selling them on Ebay . It probably IS a C90 by now
