The only time you give it up Joe is when you've crashed it again and its unridableĀ

It's never unridable when there's a timber yard round the cornerViv wrote:The only time you give it up Joe is when you've crashed it again and its unridableĀ

Fucking hated that vid related to a lot of it, my mind is still mad for it but bits of me body are saying enough and guess what, if, and it is an if I do jack it in im buying a 990adv to do a bit of adventure riding bit of wild camping and some of the less challenging lanes which I know is going to end up me exploring what I can get away with on it ... already thought of my route to barmouth which will probably end up with a trip to A+E so safer if I keep the smoker

Losing the feeling and its down to lack of use but always think ill hang on to it for another month. I see all that money just sitting there on a Stand unused and depreciating so fast I feel like putting a flying kick into it! bought a trials bike in June and by July I used that more in a month than I did the berg all year (twice!!) If someone makes me a suitable offer the bike will be straight out the door!

Re: You've lost that lovin feelin
I lost that lovin feelin earlier in the year due to lack of work and financial worries so gave up for a bit and Mel has been thinking of giving up because he's so good looking and doesn't want to head butt a tree but we both called each other big yellow backed pussies and got back in the saddle
I've had a few smaller rideout's lately led by Joss, Rob and Wolfy and on each of them we all had such a laugh with the best bunch of guys you could hope for
So Juls and Simon, stop being spineless cry baby mummies boys and get back on it (once your knee is better Juls, when that be you reckon? )

Nothing wrong with losing your mojo for bikes now and again . Sometimes the best ride is that first one after a while off , when it dawns on you why you like riding ..

This is the problem Joe I've already been told it won't get better although all the pain I had has gone for the moment the doc reconned 5 yrs max before I need a new knee and with at least 20yrs left in work I'm still torn between what I love and what to do for the best ..... I know what I should do ....... I've known for a few yrs that the both knees are not good but when your told by the doc it sort of makes it more real

Re: You've lost that lovin feelin
I've jacked it in and made more comebacks than Take That
Sometimes I've jacked it all in and started riding again before anyone's even noticed I'd ever stopped - even the Mrs!
After a nasty off that bollocksed my shoulder, the vet told me bikes would be out of the question in the future, would only be able to drive again if I bought an automatic, and would have to change my job
10 years later I did the Welsh and Powys enduro's and still do the same job!
So maybe don't try to plan too far ahead, don't try to rush any recuperation and realise that doctor's are always a bit cautious
And whilst bikes lose money like the clappers parked up, so does a change of heart a few months later when you replace the bugger!!
