Builth Wells Motor Club LTD
Return of the Cwmowen Enduro!

Some good news for all you Enduro riders out there! After a long absence, Builth Wells Motor Club have managed to secure, once again, the running of the Cwmowen Enduro! The Cwmowen is an old school traditional time card Enduro and unfortunately due to land restrictions and the sheer work involved to run Enduro's these days, there are fewer and fewer of them around. Members of Builth Wells Motor Club have been keen to get this Event up and running again since it was last run in 2003, but land issues were the main problem faced, until now.
Back in 2003 the event was run on land owned by the Ministry of Defence (MOD) and not on "Cwmowen" where it had traditionally been held and where some of you older riders perhaps remember! After approaching the land owners and graziers of the hill, the event has recently been given the green light by all parties involved, which is great news for Builth Wells Motor Club and Enduro riders alike.
Club member Dai Price is the man who has got the ball rolling and is keen to get this top class event running again. He is hoping to get a lap of over 30 miles, with 2 time checks and one electronically timed test.
Dai is Clerk of the Course for the event and will be ably assisted by Assistant clerk of the Course, Tom Knill, who will primarily be taking care of the planning and designing of the test. The course is designed with the input of a variety of Club members of all abilities, so the route is appealing to all levels of rider. We propose to have a Championship class, along with Experts, Clubman, O-40's A (Expert ability), O-40's B (Clubman ability), Sportman, Ladies and also Sidecar's.
The route will be all open moorland so should make for very enjoyable riding. The test, fuelling area and one of the checks will be at the start area so will also make good viewing for pit crews and spectators alike.
Please note... this event is a time card Enduro and not a Hare and Hounds that we also run as part of our 3 Round series. Therefore all bikes will need lights fitted and it is up to the rider to make sure they are road legal as there are two road crossings in the Event.
Any motorcross bike without lights fitted will not be permitted!
Entry forms will become available for this event in the next few months so watch this space and remember to keep Sunday 9th August free in your diaries!
