A great few rides out of Risca to see out 2014.

Story goes, in the summer I went to Spain and did 3 days of trail riding and got hooked.  I used to ride road bikes about 10 years ago and haven’t been on a crosser six or seven years I guess.  

As soon as I came back from Spain I got the KTM and since then my stepdad has bought one, and my good mate has bought a Husky as his first ever bike. We generally ride out of Risca avoiding roads for almost the entire route.

Approximately 30 miles mud plugging covers:

Twmbarlwm > Cwmbran > Pontypool > 4 Stroke Valley > Abercarn (river) > Cwmcarn (hard, dark, forest) > Machen and back down via Ochrwyth

Looks great! I like the trail running and crossing the stream.

looks awesome. Bet you could get really lost in the summer when everything is growing and hiding the trails.

Yeah, my mate who was in front was petrified as he isn't very good with heights.

We are yet to find out, I hope it isn't too painful when we do. tbh, you can ride through almost anything. The worst parts are the huge mud muddle created by the 4x4's as you don't know how deep they are or what is on the bottom so hitting them at speed is always a risk.
