Re: Bike lift
Didn't really want to buy a cheap one without seeing it first, as having a road bike balancing 3 feet up in the air on a piece of Chinese shit sounds a bit of a liability!
Because when it's up there, you must have to jack it up again in some way to get the wheels off?
As you've got one, are they worth the effort or in the way most of the time and also frightening to use for above reasons???

Re: Bike lift
I have a bike lift in work, they are great if working on the bike all the time, definitely saves your back and always nice to have it at the right level for working on.
You can always strap the bike to the lift, i done this when changing the wheel bearings on my gasgas. But like you said i had to use a jack to lift the bike up to get the wheel off. Not to bad on a road bike if you have paddock stands.

Re: Bike lift
I used to use mine a lot for working on my road bike.
That was a heavy old lump that seemed ok once up in the air.
There great if you got the room.
You got plenty.
I used to park is a bike on it when not being used so never really got in the way.
